Hi, I’m Laura. I’m a dental hygienist but it was only after a decade in the industry that I discovered the field of study that would eventually become my passion, Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy (OMT) and airway health. While attending some continuing education courses, that focused on airway and breathing, I first learned what an Orofacial Myofunctional Disorder (OMD) was and came to recognize many of the seemingly unrelated symptoms that I, myself, had been experiencing for most of my life, were likely due to my own OMDs. The more I learned, the more I recognized OMDs were affecting not only my health, but my family’s health, my friend’s health, and my patient’s health in significant ways. This has changed my life path.
Following the initial courses I took, I read as many books on the topic of airway health and Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy (OMT) as I could get my hands on, until I was able to get intensive training to become an Orofacial Myofunctional Therapist with the Academy of Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy (AOMT) in 2022. I have continued to expand my knowledge to include breathing re-education and I am now a Buteyko Clinic International Certified Instructor. This advanced training allows me to offer more well-rounded therapy to my patients, who are breathing better, sleeping better and feeling better!
We are all unique and have our own stories. I am compassionate and I want to hear your story and help you improve your health through Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy and Breathing Re-Education. I am also passionate to educate and spread the word about OMT so that the many people in need of this life changing therapy are informed about the amazing benefits this treatment can have. I would love the opportunity to work with you!
